Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data GlossForge Detailing Studio collects through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have. Last updated: 1 January 2025.
1. Who we are
GlossForge Detailing Studio (“we”, “us”) operates this website and provides car detailing and ceramic coating services. Our contact address is Aldridge Road 1196, B44 8PE Birmingham. You can reach us by telephone on NoneNone or by e-mail at studio@glossforge.online. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What data we collect
- Enquiry data: the name, e-mail address, optional telephone number, vehicle details and message you submit through our enquiry form.
- Booking data: appointment dates, services selected, vehicle registration where supplied, and work records relating to your vehicle.
- Technical data: anonymous information recorded by our hosting provider in server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect special category data and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
3. Why we use your data and the legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation — on the basis of your consent and of steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
- To deliver the service you booked, including guarantee registration and maintenance reminders — on the basis of performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and warranty records — on the basis of our legal obligations.
- To keep the website secure — on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
4. Marketing
We only send service reminders or offers by e-mail if you have asked us to. Every message contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by replying to any e-mail or calling the studio.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who act on our instructions: our website hosting provider, our e-mail provider, coating manufacturers where a guarantee must be registered in your name, and our accountant for invoicing. Where a provider processes data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses are in place.
6. How long we keep data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
- Customer and vehicle work records: for the duration of the coating guarantee plus two years.
- Invoices and accounting documents: for the period required by law, normally six years.
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
7. Cookies
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies or local storage required for the site to function. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics profiling. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address as part of delivering the font files. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
8. Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure or restriction of processing, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, write to studio@glossforge.online. We respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
9. Security
Data submitted through this site is transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to customer records is limited to studio staff who need it, devices are password protected, and vehicle keys and documents are stored in a locked safe while a car is with us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. The current version is always published on this page together with the date of the last update.
